My Approach
The body holds the key
Your presence here is likely the sign that you are looking for a way out. Out of repetitive or destructive patterns, out of limiting beliefs, out of negative self-talk, out of feeling stuck in pain rooted in the past and constantly resurfacing in the present moment, out of spiralling anxiety and overwhelming shame…
All these symptoms find their roots in your personal unconscious, shaped either by the traumatic events you went through or by unnoticed emotional neglect. In the West, in which the analytical mind is so important, we are inclined to believe that we can heal the mind with the mind and we often foster cognitive therapy when we’re looking for help. Doing so we completely overlook how our emotions are trapped within and how these symptoms are being constantly expressed by the body. The idea behind Somatic Coaching and Therapy is to reconnect to the natural intelligence of the body, to its felt sense, to the sensations that it produces. When we let those emotions, feelings and sensations run their course completely, meeting them with openness and compassion, we also learn to naturally let go of them, finally breaking free from their grip. This process is also often called Shadow Integration. I am here to hold a safe space and guide you gently through the exploration of your unconscious as it surfaces within the body and to your conscious attention.
If Somatic Coaching and Therapy can deliver fast results and have you experience important inner shifts in a matter of a few sessions it is not to say that I am promising that every session will be absolutely transformational and life changing (if you spent a little time on social medias you know what I am talking about). The truth is that transformation takes commitment and careful integration. It also depends on many factors: your current level of connection to the body, how much unprocessed emotions you are carrying, your capacity to let go of the old and welcome the new…
That’s what we’ll establish together in the Introduction call. If the feeling that we can work together is mutual, we’ll book a 2h 30m session. This is fairly long and demanding so I recommend you plan a quiet, alone and integrative moment afterward. For some, such session may be enough, for some others we might need to keep workin, unravelling the unconscious and connecting deeper to the body. In which case we’ll plan one, or several, follow-up sessions. If we do plan sessions over a certain period of time, I will be available between sessions by phone (either calling or messaging) for extra support during this important period. Lastly, if you prefer beginning with a first session of 1h 15m it is also possible.

My own journey
It took until my early thirties to understand how much my childhood and teenage have shaped my mind and my life in many destructive ways. I had many addictions helping me coping with what I couldn’t feel: smoking cigarets compulsively, cannabis daily, alcohol weekly, compulsive sexuality as well. On the emotional side: unintegrated anger bursting frequently, deep shame, people’s pleasing behaviour, impossibility to concentrate and focus, very low self-esteem, lack of self-confidence, commitment issues… The traumas experienced, from being bullied to being a scapegoat as well as emotional neglect, left a big wound and anything went for as long as I would numb myself sufficiently. The disconnection from the body ran very, very deep.
My journey to nervous regulation, psychological healing and spiritual growth began in 2016. Since then I practiced and studied many modalities ranging from Mindfulness Meditation (which I still practice), Yoga, Breathwork, Calisthenics, Running, Cold exposure, Journaling, Somatic Coaching and Therapy… I also studied Jungian psychology, Mythology and Eastern philosophies. Once again, anything would go but this time walking the path towards nervous regulation, inner safety, holistic health, wholeness and individuation. I am not saying I am ‘there’ yet (for wherever ‘there’ is) but these years of studying brought me a wide knowledge both theoretical and embodied and I love to use it to help you create the life you want and break free from the patterns that are blocking you from doing so.
With much love,
Jonathan.
